St Raphael Liturgical Ministers

The Liturgical Ministers for St Raphael's Parish enhance the worship of the parish community.  All of the ministries are always on the lookout people who would like to serve.  If you are interested in becoming a Liturgical Minister, please contact Marci in the parish office at 218-729-7537.

Altar Servers

Altar Servers are responsible for preparing the church for the Mass by lighting the candles, placing the gifts on the offertory table, and setting the Sacramentary and other items for communion on the credence tables.  Altar servers must arrive in the sacristy 15 minutes before the scheduled time for Mass.  Altar Servers are at least 3th grade age.

Lectors

Lectors are responsible for proclaiming the first and second readings.  There are workbooks available to help Lectors prepare for the readings.  These workbooks are available in the sacristy and the Parish office.

Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion

There are usually 3 Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion (EMHC) per Saturday/Sunday Masses if there are not enough ordinary ministers (Priest/Deacon). Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion help in the distribution of the Body and Blood in the Eucharist.  Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion training sessions will be held periodically for people who are interested in participating in this ministry.

Ushers

Ushers mainly serve by taking the collection(s) and getting those offerings to the sacristy after the Mass.  They may be called upon to help worshipers who have questions or difficulties before, during or after the Mass.
